Toddler Tidbits

Lets see, William refers to us as "my mommy and Harrison's daddy." I'm not sure who Harry's mommy is or William's daddy is yet though :)

Harrison throws the best temper tantrums there are. He pulls out all the stops. He throws himself on the floor. He throws whatever is in sight. He slaps, punches, kicks, etc. Most of the time I try to ignore him so as to not give into his behavior. Yesterday was rather embarrassing though. We attend Community Bible Study every Wednesday. Harry didn't want to leave yesterday so he started his tantrum and throwing punches at me. Oh the joys of being a parent.

William still hates preschool. Every time I drop him off, there is a show. Huge tears, cries for "one more kiss," begging to go home, etc. I really hope this passes soon because it is getting hard that he has been there for a month and he has shown no change. He is such a different kid there too. He will not eat at all. Not that he is a great eater at home but he won't touch anything there. We were told that he will not participate in art class. He has no projects hanging up around the room or anything to send home like the other kids do. He loves art projects at home so I don't know why he won't participate at school.

Harry is becoming a really good talker lately. He has full conversations with us and he even mocks William. I don't know where he learned to do this at two but the other night he was making fun of William crying at preschool. He reenacted the entire scene and then poked fun of him.

The boys are still best friends. They go everywhere together. That includes our bed in the middle of the night.

And those are your Toddler Tidbits for the week :)

Catching up

Wow, I have become so bad at blogging lately. Maybe it has something to do with me never being home anymore :( The most sleep that I get each night is 5 hours if I am lucky. Lately the boys are waking up all through the night so it's even less than that. So by time Saturday gets here, I crave to sleep in. I was proud of myself this past Saturday to wake up early and we headed to SeaWorld.

"This way Harry. Let's go see the whales." William takes pretty good pictures :)
After feeding the Sea Lions.

Surfing on a whale.
The previous weekend we took the boys to Boot Barn to find cowboy hats for them. I couldn't snap a picture of Harrison but Will was all dressed up.

I forgot to post these earlier. My friends had a lunch for my birthday a couple weeks ago. These woman have become some of my closest friends here. They are part of the "Farmer's Family" as we like to call it. All of our husbands work for Farmer's and we have all moved several times.
Again, Will taking pictures :)
Shawn and myself.

Karen, Johanna and myself.

And they know me well. Dessert was filled with an assortment of Sprinkles Cupcakes.

A Family Day

Sometimes it feels like the weekend cannot get here soon enough. It was a pretty crappy week. I had another migraine Thursday and Friday. I had to take another shot, same story different day. I let someone get the best of me at work Friday night and it sent my heart rate up over 200 bpm. So I was excited today was Saturday. I actually slept until 11:30am without waking up once beforehand. Scott just let me sleep to my content :) It was nice.

Sorry about the pictures. They are all taken with my phone so the quality isn't the greatest. The boys relaxed reading books and such. We headed to the mall this afternoon. It is so funny to watch kids on the carousel. Most kids run to their favorite animal. Harry runs to the handicap chair EVERY TIME.
Will's pick was a horse today.

After the carousel, we treated them to frosted cookies on a stick.
Scott had the grand idea to take the boys to dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant. It actually turned out really well. There was a balloon maker there today so they loved it. You can't really tell from the picture but Harry wanted a rocket ship.

Will asked for a train with smoke.
Then they were serenaded. I have no idea what he sang because it was in Spanish but the boys were amazed so that is all that counts.
And on our way home, we passed some people riding horses down the street. By time I turned to take a picture, they were already in a field.

It was a lovely day. I so miss our family time. We don't get to see each other much anymore or spend time with all four of us together. Today was nice.

Birthday weekend

Oh yes I am 21 plus ten! This birthday really snuck up on me. I was completely shocked at work to have my space all decorated. Yes it's a cube but at-least it is a manager's cube and twice the size of the others. lol A great gift from Victoria's Secret and this fabulous cake! Strawberry Custard. Oh and not to mention over a 100 people staring at me as they sing Happy Birthday TWICE. The second time around was beautiful though as one of my team members is a professional singer. She was amazing.
I feel very blessed to be working with people that care this much!
Saturday the boys woke me up with breakfast in bed! Orange juice and coffee, hash browns, eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy and my favorite, Tomatoes and gravy! There wasn't much sleeping in but I will take what I got :) The boys sent me to the spa for a day of pampering. I actually had gift certificates left over from Mother's Day and my anniversary. I obviously don't take time to myself much so Scott called in the gift certificates and was able to schedule a full body massage, a peppermint foot scrub and hydration, a rosemary mint body scrub and wrap, eye brow waxing and a facial! It was a fabulous morning/afternoon.
I came home to this...

Cake, champagne, flowers and gifts. Since the ocean stole my sunglasses from me last month, Scott bought me a new pair of Oakley Aviators. Ahh I love Oakley. Scott also bought me this dress.
and surprised me with dinner and tickets to see Pat Benatar. Chasing Kings opened for them

and then as Pat Benatar came on stage, my camera battery died! Just the luck. Look how close we were too! I didn't expect to be this spoiled but it just goes to show that I am so blessed and loved by my boys. I have to be the luckiest mom and wife there is.

Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day weekend was pretty uneventful at our house. I was pretty sick on Friday. I missed work and advised to go to the hospital from my former cardiologist (when I couldn't reach my new cardiologist). I was beyond the point of exhaustion. I never felt that way. It was a mix between working full time, lack of sleep and an increase dose of beta blockers. I couldn't keep my eyes open and I couldn't get my heart rate down. Triage said it was like I ran a marathon in my sleep. They kept me for a long time in the emergency room and I ended up getting a migraine at the same time. I woke up Saturday and felt even worse than the day before. The final decision was to increase my beta blockers again and know that my exhaustion is only going to get worse (as that is a side effect of beta blockers). The weekend was shot but luckily we didn't have work Monday. So we took the boys back to Underwood Farms. We had a lot of fun driving the tractors,

Getting caught...

Riding the tractor, seeing an animal show, play around....
Riding Flossie and Bessie...

It was fun!

William's First Day of Preschool

Today was William's first day of preschool. He must look older than 3 because they kept directing him to go to the Pre-K room. He did so much better than I thought he would do. He was excited the whole way there. I think it helped that Scott took him with the other night to pay tuition. The teacher gave him a tour then and he remembered the toys he wanted to play with this morning. I think it also helped that I had Shelby come watch Harrison so I could take Will by myself and he wouldn't be wondering why Harry wasn't staying. He just wanted extra kisses when it was time for me to leave but he was fine. This is pretty big for William. The whole reason we put him in preschool is because he is nervous around kids he doesn't know. Lately he's been Mr. Social so this should help as well.

Now Harrison, on the other hand, isn't quite happy. He was ok while Shelby was here but as soon as she left, he wanted Will. He keeps asking me where he is and requesting that we go pick him up. Only a little over an hour to go and we get to see how Sir William's first day was :)
