Good-Bye Utah

Moving day(s) has arrived. After two years and two months, it is time to move on to Sunny California. It is bittersweet. Sad to say good-bye to a home that brought us so many great memories and a place where we started our family. Happy that we are reunited as a family after two months of being apart. We haven't gotten to enjoy our time together yet as it has been hectic since Scott came home and we have all been sick. On a side note, I am happy to leave after a small incident that happened earlier this week.
To make a very long story short, a woman posed as a potential buyer on our house and stole from us. I feel really violated but thankful that nothing bad happened to the boys. But it did bring Scott home sooner than planned. Great Grandpa and Grandpa Archer came for a couple days. Since we are moving into a house half the size of ours now, we have to send some stuff back to Missouri for storage. I think William is tired of saying Good-byes because he started crying really hard when they left :(
William was Great Grandpa's right hand man. He followed him everywhere and wanted to play with him all day long. He really enjoyed his time with him. More to follow when we arrive in California. I hope the drive isn't too bad with two babies and a dog for 12 hours- what are we thinking?!

"Dadda's" picture

William has family pictures on his changing table. I put Scott's picture up there a couple weeks ago. Last night, he took it down. He carried it around everywhere talking to him. He showed him his toys and danced for him :) He gave him kisses too. This morning he took it down again to kiss his dadda. Then he took it over to Harrison and said, "look dadda." It was so cute!!!!
On another note, I took William and Harrison to Discovery Gateway on Monday. I wish I would have gone sooner because there was so much to do there. They had a little water park, a farm area, market, play house, helicopter on the roof, science area, etc. William met his friend Jack there and they had a great time.
Harrison wasn't left out. There was even an area for him to play.

Getting Closer

My Three boys! Aren't they so cute?! Scott came home to visit this weekend. It was so nice having him here but even worse saying good-bye again. It gets harder each time we have to drop him off at the airport. The whole time he was walking in, William was pointing and saying, "Dadda." He was definitely a daddy's boy this weekend. He wouldn't leave Scott's side. We had a nice time taking the boys to the pool and going the Bryant's house for dinner one night.

This process has been anything but easy on us. Only one more week in Utah and we will finally be together as a family again. I know most people don't look forward to the packing and moving part but all I can think about is the next time we pick Scott up at the airport, we will finally be whole again.

The weather

Ok, I am usually not one to talk about the weather. I get annoyed that every time I talk to my dad, I get a full weather report for around the world. BUT it just amazes me that it is in the high 90s in the valley where we live but there is still a ton of snow up at the top of the mountains only miles away. I tried to take the boys to Silver Lake the other day (for those of you that do not know what Silver Lake is, it is a lake at the top of Big Cottonwood canyon where you can go hiking and fishing. They have a boardwalk around the lake) but it was closed because the lake and boardwalk are frozen and covered with snow.

Catching up....

I have obviously neglected the blog lately. My sister and nephews have been in town for almost two weeks. It was nice to have company to keep my mind off of being away from Scott. My sister is like my best friend so it was nice to be able to spend quality time with her. We have done quite a bit of activities lately so there will be a lot of pictures on this post.
The baby group met this weekend at the farmer's market. I will be sad to be leaving this group. We have been getting together for a year now. The first time we met, it was the group pictured above. Now there are 7 babies in the group. I will miss the monthly activities and mom's night out. I hope we find a good group in California.
Harrison's personality is coming out each day. He laughs ALL of the time. Now he is babbling up a storm and gets so excited. I have always heard that no matter how bad your voice is that babies love to hear their mommy sing to them. WELL...every time I sing lullabies to Harrison, he starts cracking up laughing!!!
We went to ChuckECheese for the first time and William loved the rides.
We went shopping at the Gateway. William and Austin loved running through the sprinklers.

We made our way back to Hogle Zoo again. This time the Merry-Go-Round was up and running. The boys had fun.

And we took Harrison swimming for the first time ever. He liked the water a lot but seemed amazed there was a bath tub that big! William had a blast. He is a little fish. He splashed everyone and would get so excited in the water.

Happy Father's Day!

Sorry for neglecting the blog lately. We have been up to a lot this past week and a half. I will post pictures soon. Happy Father's Day Scott. We wish we could spend the day with you! The boys miss their daddy very much! Happy Father's Day to all of the dads out there. I couldn't be more grateful to the father I have. He is such a wonderful man and has taught me so much. And I am thankful to my father in law for all that he has done for my family and for the man he made Scott. Happy Father's day!

Big Hugs

Just a misc post. Harrison had his first taste of baby cereal the other day. He obviously didn't care too much for it:) William had lunch with his friend, William, the other day. They made quite the mess for the waitress. This is why going out to eat is such a big deal. The two are pictured above. Will and Harrison got a new toy the other day that the both of them like. It is a penguin that when you punch it, it bounces back up. William likes to wobble with it and Harrison babbles at it when it sings.

Will and Belle continue to be best friends. Now he chases her around the house asking for her paw since she gives it to him now. She rested her paw on his head the other night and he thought that was hilarious.

If you have ever been in William's room, you would have noticed he has pictures of family members on his changing table. The other day, I added a picture of Scott. Well Will made me cry when he noticed it. He pointed and said, "Dadda." He kept touching it and then hugged his dresser. When I took him down, he just stood there staring at the picture of his daddy in confusion. Since then, he goes in his room all of the time to look at his picture of daddy and hug the dresser :)

On another note, William has learned to sign, "I'm sorry." He has also experienced some time outs lately. He likes to sit on his brother and to my surprise, Harrison likes it. BUT once Harrison starts laughing, Will slaps him in the head. So, now he has to say I'm sorry.

Quality family time

It is sad to say that Stephanie left to go back home. We enjoyed having her here. We took the boys to Thanksgiving Point for the Lamb and Wool festival on Saturday. I didn't think that Will would like the ponys but he really did. He even rode them twice. He called them "big Bellas." It was a fun trip.
I thought this little pigmy was the cutest thing.
