Feeling moisturized?

Who was caught playing with the Vitamin E lotion as hair gel????

And no pictures of this but I don't think these words should ever have to come out of my mouth. To Harrison: "Please don't chew on Belle's tail."

Just miserable

How is it that I cannot kick this sickness?! I remember the good old days when I was little and I would go to the doctor. They would give you a shot of antibiotics and a day later you were back outside playing. Now they just give you a prescription for the weak stuff that doesn't work and you stay sick forever! A week later and I am more miserable than I was to begin with. Luckily Scott never caught it and William is over it. Poor lil Harry Bug is like me though. He is usually a ball of energy but now he is so sick he will just come up to me and snuggle. I worked all day Wednesday chloroxing and sanitizing the entire house in hopes of not spreading anymore sickness but I think all of the work made me more sick from lack of rest. Ugh.

So Scott has been a workaholic this week trying to get his project done. He has been staying at work until 6pm or later. Coming home to tuck the boys in, then working from home till 2am or 3am and then back up at 5am to start all over. Well last night it hit him and he was out at 7:30pm for the night. I knew he had a lot of work to do this weekend so, even though I am sick, I took the boys out for 4 hours today of shopping, lunch, walking around, etc. Then home for naps. Well I should say, Harrison is taking a nap. Anyway, I got really excited because William saw the Easter bunny at the outdoor mall and he got really excited. He went over and shook her hand, petted her, gave her high five and told her all about his afternoon. Well if you remember the picture with Santa, he was not having it. So of-course I got excited that I was actually going to get a picture of William. Well, he is still not having it. I guess chumming it up with her and sitting on her lap are two totally different things because he didn't want to sit on her, beside her, in front of her, no where near her. But luckily Harrison obliged. He still wouldn't smile but he did okay.

Hopefully next weekend will be better. This weekend is a work weekend for Scott and hopefully a get better weekend for me. Hope everyone else is having a good weekend.

What is Mommy thinking?

I know Mommy is still really sick but has she lost her mind? Giving us spaghetti for lunch? Does she know we are going to make a big mess? This mess is going to take her longer to clean up than it took her to make this for us. Well if she thinks she can handle it, lets go to town!

Sick, sicker and sickest

Yep, we are all sick! Well with the exception of Scott but I am sure he will catch it. We didn't do much this weekend. I started getting sick on Saturday. I haven't felt this bad in a long time (and we were all just sick last month!). I have strep throat and a bacterial infection in my throat, nose and ears. I slept all day Sunday and part of the day yesterday after my doctor's appt. I thought, or I was hoping, I got on antibiotics fast enough before everyone else caught it. But Will had a fever last night and I was up with Harrison all night because he was restless and cranky. I took the boys to the doctor this morning and they both have strep and Will also has an ear infection. So I am sure Scott will be next in line since he has been taking good care of me and the boys. I have my fingers crossed that both boys will take a nap here in a little bit so I can catch some Zs.

What a difference a year makes

It is so weird to believe my friend, Scottie, bought the boys this soccer outfit one year ago. I can't believe it has already been one full year!!!

William March 24th, 2008

On another note, I wanted to comment about yesterday's Wordless Wednesday post. Of-course, I can't be wordless right? I just wanted to say that I do have one word for the pictures of the boys with Belle...gross. We do not encourage licking the dog's face or kissing with our tongues :) Harrison is at that stage where he is learning to give kisses. He very rarely will kiss Scott or I but he loves kissing Miss Belle. I guess he thinks that since she licks, he is supposed to as well. He also likes to get a mouthfull of her fur on her back. He is gross :) But he is learning and doesn't know any different. We were laughing at how gross it was last night when he was "licking" her good-night. I said I was going to take the picture so I could give it to his first girlfriend years down the road. Well William thought he needed attention to so he was mocking Harrison to make us laugh. Ahh, to have a camera handy.

Oh So Tired.

Yesterday we took the boys hiking. Our neighborhood is called, "Hope Town." It is Bob Hope's ranch from years prior. Behind us is Corringville Ranch. A lot of the land is undeveloped and there are trails from our neighborhood leading into the hiking areas. Our house is on a cul-de-sac that backs up to the caves. We are kind of embarrassed that we have lived here since July and have yet to go hiking "in our back yard." A ton of old movies were shot directly behind our house. Tarzan! Susana Pass (why the name of the street leading into our neighborhood is called Santa Susana Pass and is a beautiful Sunday drive), The Three Musketeers, Inspector General, Billy the Kid vs. Dracula, The Fugitive with David Janssen and Westerns such as, Vendetta. Speaking of Westerns, if you are an avid watcher, the sets of Fort Apache, Silvertown, Dodge City, Mineral City, Tombstone and the Lone Ranger Ranch are back there. The buildings are gone but the foundations are still there.

The Chumash Indians lived in these caves for hundreds of years.

Besides learning about our area, we did do some actual hiking. We had a nice picnic lunch with the boys. They really enjoyed being carried. I have to say that they are a lot heavier than they look! I am sore today. We had a lot of fun though.

And of-course we tuckered the little one out. All that hiking he had to do.

After naps, we took the boys over to a friends house for a bar-be-que. We got home and they went straight to bed. We had to wake them up at 8:30 this morning! At our church, we had a 50 year celebration today. And of-course they were tired by time we got home.

Will actually just wanted attention in this picture. We felt so bad for Harrison sleeping that way that William wanted us to feel sorry for him too. When we got home, BOTH boys went down for naps. Now it is over 3 hours later and they are both still sleeping! I guess we wore them out this weekend.

A night of firsts

AND HE SCORES!!! 2 points. I didn't realize that Harrison would be interested in basketball like William is. William could stay outside all day and play basketball. I never thought Harrison would be more interested. We went out back and Harrison wanted to play so I lowered the net. Harrison kept shooting baskets and making them. Then there was a night of firsts- their first basketball game. William was blocking him but Harrison still made the baskets.

Afterwards we came in for dinner. And then off to the bath. Harrison has always bathed by himself in the toddler bath. So tonight I tried to save time by bathing them together. He had his first big boy bath and shared it with his brother. I have to say that Harrison was not fond of sharing the bath with his brother. It started off ok until William tried shaving Harrison's head with his Thomas the Train shaving kit. Harrison was not having it. And then the splashing didn't help. But all in all, it was fun.

Is it the weekend yet?

I was so tired this morning. Sometimes I wish I had an ounce of energy that the boys do in the morning. Even Miss Belle brought me a ball this morning to play with her. William woke up before Harrison and I really wanted to sleep so I brought Will into my room to watch cartoons but he narrated the entire time he watched TV and made sure I was aware of what was going on. William starts talking from the moment he wakes up and he doesn't take a break until bed time. As you can see by the picture, Will is ready first thing in the morning. He puts his hat and shoes on and is ready to go. Harrison, on the other hand, is more like me. He takes his time waking up. He likes to snuggle with his blankie for a while before becoming active.
This weekend was pretty boring. We were going to go hiking but I ended up taking Harrison to the doctor in the morning for a rash. It ended up being very dry skin. Talk about being an over-protective parent, huh? So we didn't do anything but errands. William had his taste of Doritos the other day. Can you tell?

Harrison is funny with his food. If he really likes something and you don't give it to him fast enough, he clinches his fists and he makes a face like he has a brain freeze. I don't have any pictures of him doing this yet. I had my choice of anything I wanted for dinner Saturday night. Do you want to know why? Here is why.

Scott thought he could cut William's hair. Boy was he wrong?! He ended up taking him to Fantastic Sams to get it fixed and he came home like this---barely any hair.

The boys love helping with the laundry...

After church, we went to the park as usual. This time William had to pull the wagon ALL OF THE WAY home.

And of-course I couldn't forget to blog about Miss Belle. I caught this really cute picture of her going to bed with her doll.

That is a recap of our weekend :) Hope everyone is doing well.

Favorite moments of the day

Today William sat down next to me and told me everyone he loved. And he did not forget to include himself :)

The boys love playing with Miss Belle. This morning Belle would roll over on her back while William would sit on her stomach and Harrison would take the ball from Belle's mouth. Harrison would throw the ball. Belle would run and get it and the process would start all over. All three of them were having a great time. Then Harrison grabs Belle's face and gives her a big kiss. Of-course he waited for her to kiss him too.

I bought Belle a new bed. She snores extremely loud at night. So loud that I can't fall asleep or am woken up by her. I read that you can change the shape of her current bed to help. She can also stand to lose a few pounds. I am desperate to get her to stop so I am increasing her walks to 3 times a day and I bought a round bed for her. Well the boys think it is their new toy. They took it all around the house today to play in it. Belle was pouting as she followed them around wanting to try it out. William loves to curl up in it while Harrison likes to lay on the pillow part. Belle would just like a chance to sit in it:)

Two little monkeys jumping on the bed

I love this stage. The boys are best friends. They won't be sharing a room anytime soon as they would never go to sleep if they were in the same room. They laugh, run, jump, play, etc all day long together.

William makes me laugh because when I came in his room this morning he asked, "mommy have a good night sleep? Will had a good night sleep." Then he went into Harrison's room and sang the Good Morning song to him. Now don't get me wrong, there are those occasional times where William will go up to Harrison and just push him down. Then he will say, "Harry fell." Like I didn't see why he fell.

William loves being naked. As you can tell, he had a hard time undressing yesterday. I caught him in the act. I know it is a long process but William is doing really well potty training. He goes on the potty all of the time. I am proud of him.

Both boys love Miss Belle. Will likes to give her hugs and kisses and to play ball with her. But Harrison loves to jump on her and roll around on the floor with her. It is so cute.

Who is that scurrying in my house?

Nope, not a little mouse! Earlier this week I heard some rustling in my bedroom. I thought, that can't be right. But then Belle jumped up and ran over to the armoire in our bedroom and started barking. I was sick to my stomach thinking we had mice in our house. I never heard or saw anything again after that day....until today. Scott came to me this morning to tell me he found a lizard in our house and he wasn't small. So he got a bucket to catch him. We went to get him and he was gone! How can I live in a house with a big lizard? I'll never be able to sleep again. Then I started wishing it was a mouse because those are easy to catch with traps. Ugh. So as I was going to relax and sit down on the couch, what do I see?

I found him! This was the window right next to the couch. Look at those nails!!! With folder and a bucket we caught him. And now I am relieved because he is outside and not where we eat and sleep. My fear? How in the world did he get in and is he the only one? Ahhhh! And he was quite the little traveler. I first heard him in the bedroom. Scott saw him in the bathroom (I know, how bad would that suck to be going to the bathroom and have him run over your feet?). And we caught him in the living room. Poor guy was trying to find his way outside! Actually I don't feel too sorry for him as I am the one who is scared of reptiles. Now I keep thinking I am feeling stuff on me :)
