Do you really think you are smarter than me?

Harrison LOVES Apple Jacks cereal and wants them for every meal. This morning I made waffles but he kept pointing to the AJ cereal box. I told him that if he finished his waffle, he could have some Apple Jacks. So when I wasn't looking, he stuffed the waffle behind him in his high chair. He had to get creative since he no longer can feed Miss Belle. When I looked back at him, he pointed to his empty plate and then at the Apple Jacks box. Now sir Harrison, I know you are a human garbage disposal but I know you cannot eat that fast! I, of-course, figured out his little trick and gave it back to him. In the end, he did finish his waffle and got some Apple Jacks. I have to admit for a 16 month old, he is pretty smart BUT did you really think you could outwit the Mommy, Harry?

Seperation Anxiety?

So I am mopping the floor and I make my way into Harrison's room to find him in his old walker. He is still in it right now zooming around the house. He hasn't played in it in months so I guess it is a *new* toy now. He is so silly.

Anyway, the real subject of my post. William is going through a seperation anxiety issue right now. For the last two weeks, he must sleep with us. He tells me he is scared of his room. Within seconds of being put down for bed, the light is on and he is headed out the door to "mommy's bed." And no it isn't mommy AND daddy's bed. William told me "Daddy sleeps in mommy's bed." Glad he has things straight :) So going on, after Will falls asleep we put him back in his bed. But it is just crazy that every morning he is laying right next to me in bed. I don't know what to do. I can't lock him in his room. Last night I explained to him that I am not leaving. Well that was the wrong thing to say because he hugged me until he fell asleep. He seriously would not let go. Now I know that sounds cute but it isn't easy trying to fall asleep with a two year old around your neck :) This morning William asked me, "No work for daddy. Daddy home?" I said no and his response was, "but please???" Poor guy.

Dirt digger

William has not let go of his dirt digger truck in about a week. No seriously, he has not let go of it. He takes it with him everywhere.

I found a cow tunnel on clearance at target today. You can't imagine how many laughs are coming from these two chasing each other through it.

Cajun Creole festival

Well it's been a fun relaxing weekend. Friday night we went to Scott's graduation for his boot camp. Work out boot camp, not military boot camp. It's been a tough 6 weeks but we are proud of him! Saturday was laid back. Sunday was the usual with church followed by naps. But afterwards we went to the Cajun Creole Festival in Simi Valley. It was really fun. They had lots of foods and bands. Plus slides and jumpers for the little ones. Of-course the little guys weren't shy and danced for everyone. We had some good jambalaya, shrimp poor boys and my favorite, funnel cake. Lots of fun for us. We want to wish a happy birthday to Gramma Archer and our thoughts are with my good friend Kara who is being induced today to meet her precious little boy.

Bye Bye Nana

Well yesterday was a sad day. After two weeks of visiting, Nana (Payne) had to go back home. She was supposed to stay a little over a week but as the time drew near, we extended her trip. I think Pawpa was missing her so we couldn't keep prolonging her trip. Hopefully she will come back soon.

We had so much fun. We did everything from a spa day to laying on the beach. The boys just loved playing with Nana. Yesterday at the airport, they cried. And this morning, they ran around the house looking for her. It makes me sad :( I explained she had to go home to see Pawpa and her animals but they said, "no!." All day today, I have been reminded of where Nana sits, sleeps, etc. We miss you!

Shoe fetish?

Is William passing on his fetish to his younger brother?

Yes they are wearing PJs in both pictures because I took the first pictures this morning after they woke up and the others are from tonight after bath time. They actually wear regular clothes during the day :)

Wow, catching up

Ok lets get caught up. Busy Busy Busy. Lets see, what have we done since we have gotten back?We went to the Farmer's Market. The boys rode the ponies. Since they saw a dog doing it, they figured they could. We went to ChuckECheese to play games. We went to the Reagan Museum. I have been several times but still just love it there. Isn't the view breathtaking?

Saturday my mom and I had a girls day out. We had a very nice lunch and then went to the spa to get massages and body scrubs. Oh how relaxing! Sunday we spent all day in Santa Barbara. We went to the zoo and then the beach. The zoo is so pretty. There are tons of plants and flowers everywhere.

And of-course the animals are cute too. Each time we take the boys, the more excited they get.

The beach was fun. We took home a lot of sand!!!

Vacation

Scott and I went on a little vacation to celebrate our five year wedding anniversary. It is not often we have a babysitter so it was really nice to get away and have some quiet alone time together. Our original plan was to spend one night in Santa Barbara on our way to San Luis Obispo but with the wildfires, we didn't get to stay in Santa Barbara. Instead we went a little further north and stayed one night in Cambria. We stayed at this cute little inn located on Moonstone Beach. This was the view from our room. How nice waking up to this!

We had a fantastic dinner Sunday night and ventured around the town. Monday morning we headed out to see the Elephant Seals. It was like nothing I have ever seen before. There were hundreds upon hundreds just sunbathing on the beach. Here is an up close of one scratching his head. How cute!!! You need to see my slide show on this post to see more. Also on this beach were some friendly squirrels (check out the slide show). Seriously, they came right up to us and would sit on our feet. A little too friendly for me.

Afterwards we went to Hearst Castle. This place was truly magnificent. There seriously are no words to describe this place. There was detail put into everything. Even the guest houses were amazing.

His indoor pool alone had one and a half million pounds of real gold on the floor. How much money did this guy have to want to walk on gold??? In 1919, he made between 30 and 40 thousand dollars a day!!! Can you imagine making that much money even now let alone 1919? There are more pictures on the slide show. I would recommend everyone to visit Hearst Castle if given the opportunity because it was amazing. Afterwards, we headed to San Luis Obispo to stay at the Madonna Inn. If you have never heard of it, check out their website. They have 110 differently decorated rooms and it is elaborate. My slide show has some pictures of the suite we stayed in. There was a waterfall in the shower! And there was a free flowing rock sink. We had dinner at their restaurant that night and boy was it pink?!!! The owner loved the color pink so all the interior is pink. It is kind of blinding.

Tuesday we spent the day getting a couples massage, swimming and relaxing.

We also went to Avila Beach and did some wine tasting. We had desert on a balcony over the creek with tons of frogs. Interesting but the ambiance was great! Wednesday we headed back home but had to stop at Pea Soup Andersons for the World's Best Pea Soup. I don't like pea soup but it was actually good!

Now back to the grind of waking up early and playing all day :) As if I didn't mention it enough on this post, you can click on the slideshow to open it up I have little descriptions on each picture.

Happy Birthday Scott!!!!

The big 3-0. Happy Birthday Scott. We just got back from our anniversary vacation. I will write a post soon but I have a ton of pictures to go through to decide which to put up. Scott came home to this surprise waiting in his garage.

Can you guess where he is right now? Playing in the garage. This is every man's dream! It is a Kobalt 16 drawer tool chest on wheels. It has LCD lights in the hood work bench, a pioneer stereo system with cd player, an Ipod hookup and a refrigerator in it! And I am sure some other stuff I overlooked. I will probably never see my husband again. Afterwards we had cake and ice cream. I actually put 30 candles on the cake :)
And I think Harrison had more cake on his face than in his stomach.

Happy Mothers Day

Happy Mothers Day to all of the moms out there. I have such a great appreciate for all moms and I am so blessed to be a mom. Having two little boys and a furry little girl make me so happy.
I am very thankful for my mom. She has taught me so much throughout my life and has been very supportive of me. She has always been there for me and I miss not being able to spend time with her. I get sad that I don't get to have Sunday dinners together or just go shopping in a spur of the moment. It saddens me that William and Harrison don't get to see their Nana very often. It makes me appreciate this time together. I am so glad my mom came to visit for a while. Even though we get to talk on the phone a lot and see each other on the webcam, it doesn't compare to a hug. I am so happy you are here right now. I love you.

And of-course Happy Mothers Day to my other mom. I am very appreciative to you as well and wish we could see each other more often. We look forward to spending time with you in June.

Happy Mothers Day to all the moms out there.

On a side note, I did not forget to post about our 5 year anniversary yesterday. Scott and I have been married for 5 years now and they have been the best 5 years of my life. Three houses, three states, one dog and two boys later. What more can I ask for? I found my soulmate. I have two great boys and a great family dog. I am very happy and blessed. We are celebrating our anniversary this week and I will post photos soon.

(p.s. I wrote this post Saturday night and have it set to publish Sunday morning since we will be so busy Sunday).

What a day!

What a great day! My mom is in town visiting and it is sooooo nice to spend time with her. I haven't seen her in over a year. It is the longest I have ever gone without seeing her. We had a busy but very relaxing day. We started off by rolling around the front yard with some dogs. Oh wait, that was Harrison.

Then we headed to Santa Monica. Look at all those people swimming.

We walked the boardwalk. If you look close, you will find a really hot guy and his son pushing a double red stroller (Scott is wearing the pink shirt and Will a blue shirt).

We ate lunch followed by some ice cream, funnel cake and cotton candy. We should have stopped to work out at Muscle Beach or swing on the rings to burn off some calories but no, we will leave that to someone else :)

We took a nap on the way home after being so tired of the people watching.

We had a great dinner at a Japanese steak house. It was the boys first time at a cooking station and they were in total amazement.

Can't you tell?
William did get scared once he saw the burst of flames.

Ever since his burn incident last year, he has a good concept of what "hot" means. He had to come sit on mommy's lap the rest of dinner because he didn't like the fire. I don't mind. Who could resist a cute two year old wanting to cuddle? We ended the day with spending some time playing in the backyard. Since I already had the camera out, I decided to take some family pictures.

What a great day!!!!

Afraid of dogs?...

I'm glad my kids are not afraid of dogs...obviously.

"I think I'll hang out here with Miss Belle and Spike." Spike is the neighbor dog.

"How about a kiss Spike?"
"Don't feel left out Belle. I love you too."

"Smile Miss Belle."
