Camping

We have hit a few snags the last couple weekends.  Between camping, the Pirates dinner and family pictures, you will understand.

We decided to do something different a couple weekends ago.  The boys have never been camping so I set up a camping oasis in our backyard.  We roasted hot dogs and smores.  We listened to music and play hide N’ seek.  The boys had fun hanging out in the backyard until 11pm before we went inside for the night.

The reason we didn’t stay outside that night is because there was a murder in Simi Valley the night before. Simi Valley is one of the safest cities in the country.  The police had absolutely no leads, motives, etc.  So with that and wondering if there was a random killer on the run, we decided being inside behind locked doors would be a better option.  We later found out the story which is really interesting.  The woman that was murdered was stabbed to death (talk about gory).  Anyway, it was a boyfriend that she dated 15 years earlier and hadn’t spoken to since.  They ended their relationship cordially.  They don’t know what his motive was at all or if they had contact recently. They can’t find out why either because less than 5 minutes of him fleeing the scene of the crime, he had a massive heart attack and died while driving.  Isn’t that crazy?!  But good to know there is no serial killer on the run.  So we may try camping for real soon.
