8 years!
8 years ago, I married my soul mate (May 8th, 2004).We were giggling last night about how life changes over the years. We used to make a huge deal out of anniversaries. It still is but we don’t celebrate like we used to. We would go on a mini getaway while one of our parents watch the boys. This year, I cooked Scott’s favorite meal for dinner and then I left for Boot Camp :) I came home and we had dinner with the boys and then opened our presents. Harry was sent home from school yesterday for being sick. There were a ton of kids sick. I honestly think that it was so hot outside yesterday that the heat got to them. Anyway, Harry slept in our bed last night and cuddled with us. We just laugh at how life changes but we still feel so blessed at how everything is. Every year we follow the “traditional gifts” idea for our exchange. Scott didn’t like bronze this year so he went off course lol. He bought me beautiful flowers and a personalized vase with our initials and wedding date on it.
I went a different route that I knew the boys would love as well. I thought back to each year we have been married and thought about my favorite memories from that year. I tied that memory to the bottom of a helium balloon (on the back of the memory I wrote a related word definition to the memory as well). And placed all of the balloons on our bed.
Then I had to search for the original pictures from that memory and made them into a collage. I placed the collage into a bronze picture frame. Here is what the collage turned out to look like.
And if you are interested in my favorite memories, they were:
2004: our wedding (obviously).
2005: Little weekend getaways to Saint James Winery, Hermann wineries and West Plains
2006: Our move to Utah and family pictures at Millcreek Canyon
2007: William Jameson born
2008: Harrison Prescott born
2009: Romantic getaway to San Luis Obispo and Cambria
2010: Family getaway to Big Bear Mountain
2011: Family Vacation to San Francisco
2012: The future
I know I say it all of the time but I am truly blessed for what I have. I have the most amazing husband. He is my soul mate. He is a fantastic father to the boys. He is a hard worker. And he is my best friend. I love you Scott! Happy Anniversary.

Twin lovable Buzz Lightyears
Who wouldn’t love these kids?! I love that William thinks Buzz doesn’t smile and this is what he looks like to him!
Malibu Date Day
Friday was really nice. Scott took the day off so we could go on a day date. We very rarely spend time together in the middle of the day. It was a nice change. The boys were excited too because Jillian came home from college to watch them and she took them to ChuckECheese for lunch. Does it get better than that for Mr. Harrison?!
Scott and I headed to Malibu and we ate lunch at Kristie’s Woodfire Grill and Wine Bar. We never heard of it before but it looked pretty cool up on the bluff so we decided to try it out. It turned out really good and we were glad we stopped. We are pretty cheesy sometimes so we decided to stop at a scenic overlook during our drive.
You would think we were tourists!
We had free tokens to Malibu Wines so we stopped there next. We haven’t been before. It was really pretty. I would love to go back on the weekend because they have this huge garden/patio areas and they have bands play on Saturday nights. We did enjoy just sitting, relaxing and enjoying each other’s company while there.
Afterwards, we went down to 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica. I am only posting this part because of this kid.
I don’t like seeing kids pan handling but it is nothing new to the Santa Monica/Venice area. But I have got to give it to this kid. His dad is obviously investing the money into drum lessons. He was so good. I would say better than a lot of adults. I didn’t even know it was a kid playing until after we saw the huge crowd around him.
We ended the evening at Moonshadows. I have been craving the Spicy Hawaiian Tuna Tartare since my birthday. It did not disappoint! Loved it. We ate dinner on the patio next to the balcony. They also had a DJ playing outside. By 10:30, I was wiped out and ready to go home. How sad is that? We have a babysitter and I was so tired from getting up at 5:30am that I was ready to go home afterwards.
It was such a wonderful date though. I am one lucky girl!

First Bike Wreck!!!
He was a trooper and you can’t help but to laugh at Harry’s antics when he tells the story. His story goes: “He crashed into me and then I said, “whoa, did you just see that flying dirt bike?!”” Luckily we had a dentist appointment the next morning for William to get a filling anyway. She checked his teeth and he definitely loosened all four front teeth from the fall. They took x-rays to watch to make sure he didn’t damage them and to watch for pimples on his gums or discoloring of his teeth to see if he damaged the nerves. His x-rays did indicated that his bottom tooth will definitely come out soon making him a “mature 5 year old” because it isn’t supposed to fall out until 6 or 7.
I cannot say how proud of William I am because when I came home from Boot Camp last night, he was in the cul de sac riding his bike!!! The fall did not stop him at all. I am so glad. Scott did decide that he is more over protective than he thought he would be and now wants to buy him a full faced helmet! Ha.
Weekend catch up
Saturday I had to wake up at the crack of dawn to be at Boot Camp Orientation. I joined this session of 805 Boot camp. It is an exercise and nutrition program in Simi Valley. It last 6 weeks and there is a workout Monday through Friday every day. I am very excited to feel healthy again and to have time devoted to working out. I haven’t been good about healthy eating options or exercising as often as I should. This is like having a personal trainer and someone to keep you accountable. The daily food log is very eye opening. Saturday we did all of our measurements and “before” photos. I am excited to see how different I feel in 6 weeks. And it is a perfect jump start to the summer season. Monday was my first workout and probably one of the hardest I have ever done. They are definitely going to whip me into shape. I am sore today from just two workouts. I am very excited about doing this.
After orientation, we went to a Scandinavian Festival at Cal. Lutheran University. And then to my last splurge lunch for pasta :) Sunday we went a birthday party for one of the boy’s friends, Addison. They had a lot of fun playing and goofing around.
Harry got these sunglasses in his goodie bag and did not take them off the rest of the day :)
We went to the park after dinner and this very nice guy gave us these awesome airplanes. What a kind act of goodness by a stranger! These airplanes are really cool too. They do flips and all sorts of tricks. They boys love them!
Sunday night we rode bikes and Will is Mr. Confident now and a speed demon! Onto that post!!!
