Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament

Thursday night, Scott and I went out for an overnight date night. We went to Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament in Anaheim. Neither one of us have been to one before. It was really fun and the food was good. The horses were amazing. They were beautiful. We cheered for the black and white knight. Here was the Prince.
Here was our knight fighting the nasty green knight (ours lost of-course).

Here are the white horses giving a bow. Isn't that amazing? They are so pretty.
Afterwards we went out for a few hours. Then we stayed at the Radisson Suites. Our room was nice and what was even better is that it was only the two of us in the bed. No toddlers with feet kicking us in the back or neck. Date night was fun!

Archer visit

The Archer's are in town (Scott's Parents, sisters and Grandpa). We all went to Knott's Berry Farm again yesterday. We had a lot of fun. Here is Harrison with Grandpa on the Balloons. And Auntie Stephanie with Will.
William riding with Daddy. And we even got Great Grandpa on some rides. This ride was crazy. Nobody expected that once it started moving, it swung you really fast around the corner. You can tell by Stephanie's face and her hair flying in the air.
Our little family riding William's favorite ride. You can't see Harrison but he's in there between me and Will.
Here's a better shot of him. The girls even talked me into riding a few rides. We are all holding hands. :)
And the after shot (I think I peed my pants a little) :) Getting ready to go home. Awe, how cute. Great Grandpa and Auntie Kelly. Grandma and Auntie Stephanie. And of-course Scott dancing.

Mini Getaway

Warning: lots of pictures being posted :)

We took a spur of the moment mini Archer Vacation Sunday morning. We had plans to go to Utah for a few days to visit good friends, snowboard and let the boys see snow. Harrison was an infant when we moved and William was only 15 months old so they have no idea what snow looks like or feels like. Well our plans for Utah fell through unfortunately but hopefully we will make a trip there soon. We were feeling a little down that we couldn't go so we decided at the last minute to make a trip to Big Bear Mountain in California. It was just a short one and a half day trip but it was perfect. Well almost. Scott didn't get the chance to go snowboarding because the night skiing was closed and we couldn't figure out how I would handle the boys and Belle by myself and manage to check out. And we could have done without trying to fit the four (make that five with Belle) in one bed. Harrison woke up a few hours after being in his Pack N Play and Belle snuck up on the bed in the middle of the night. Besides that, our trip was PERFECT!

Sunday we walked around The Village. We ate lunch at a Pizza place. It is so weird. About 80% of the restaurant are "pet friendly." So Miss Belle got to sit at our table with us:) Remember, this is a FAMILY vacation and she is part of it. Then we stopped for ice cream and treats afterwards. We checked into our cabin and then went out to play in the snow. William was really excited to sled until he flipped! Then he just wanted to pull everyone around.

He did sled around a little though. Later we drove around Snow Summit and Big Bear before heading back to our cabin.

And what fun that was! After dinner, the boys took a bath in a giant jacuzzi tub.

Then we made a fire and danced. We made hot chocolate and smores while watching Madagascar.
We read some books.

This morning we woke up and danced to our favorite, Alabama's Greatest Hits. The boys were begging to go play in the snow or "pay in no" as Harrison would say. Look at my little marshmallow! We must of put 50lbs of clothes on him. He reminds me of the kid from A Christmas Story.

And Miss Belle was in heaven.

Neither child was in a hurry to leave.

Family Fun

Knott's Berry Farm

We took the boys to Knott's Berry Farm today. We actually started going to Adventure City but passed Knott's Berry Farm on the way. We thought why not change our plans :) We all had a very good time. Scott is awesome at games. He won the boys a grand prize in basketball. It was his first throw and he had a chance for a "grand prize" if he made the really high basket and he did. We rode a lot of rides and saw some shows. This was Harry's favorite ride (the balloons). I was sitting with him so I couldn't get a good picture of him.
William is a little dare devil. He isn't afraid of anything and he always wants to sit in the front seat.
He even rode a little roller coaster and it was scarier than I thought it would be but he just loved it.
William may have loved the rides but he wasn't fond of Snoopy. Harrison liked him though.
The train was a big hit with both boys. In fact, we rode two different trains.

We also got to ride a Stagecoach.
It's so funny because it is January and we regretted wearing long sleeves because it was hot outside :) In other news, I received my first black eye as a mommy today. Harrison threw a fork at my face during lunch. Lucky me:) I am wondering how bad it is going to look tomorrow morning.

Taking care of Miss Belle

Last night I heard Harry laughing and getting excited. He was saying, "stay Belle." I went in to see what he was up to and this is what I found: He was put his blankie on her. I guess he thought she was cold :)

Happy New Year!

Here is our holiday letter from 2009:
Season’s greetings from the Archers!
2009 has been a great year for us. We have really enjoyed living in California and we have taken advantage of living in this state. We have visited Magic Mountain, Disneyland, California Adventure, Hearst Castle, Aquarium of the Pacific, The L.A. Zoo and The Santa Barbara Zoo, SeaWorld, The Getty, The Science Center, A NASCAR race and the L.A. County Fair to name a few. Not to mention, we frequented the beach almost every weekend this summer.

Scott and I both celebrated our 30th birthdays and our 5 year wedding anniversary. We had a nice vacation in Mexico to celebrate. Scott was promoted again within Farmers Insurance Group. We didn’t have to move this time as his new position is in California. He is now the Zone Agencies Manager for the Southwest Zone. I embarked on some new adventures this year. One year after giving birth to Harrison, I ran my first half marathon along Huntington Beach. I also graduated from National Bartending School obtaining my Mixology license. Now I just need to find a part-time job.
William is growing up so fast. He will be three in January. He has quite the personality. He is a “mamma’s boy.” He takes to Harrison very well telling him exactly what to do and what to like. He talks from the moment he wakes up until he goes to sleep (and sometimes in his sleep). Harrison will be two in January. He is Mr. Independent. He had his first surgery this year. He had tubes put in his ears. He is now starting to talk. We are never going to get a word in edgewise soon J Both boys took swimming lessons this year. William is a fish whereas Harrison didn’t care for the pool water. The ocean, on the other hand, is something that they absolutely love. Miss Belle is still a hyper protective older sister to the boys. She also enjoys the beach.

We had a lot of family visitors this year and have enjoyed spending quality time with everyone. We still haven’t made a trip back home to Missouri to visit friends and family. Maybe in 2010? It has been a good year for us. We wish you and yours a blessed 2010!
Love,
The Archers
Scott, Jymme-Lyn, William, Harrison and Miss Belle
